procedural dirt, scratches, and smudges

procedural dirt, scratches, and smudges

One of the biggest give aways that a scene is rendered is that everything looks too clean.

It'd be great (and probably relatively easy to implement) if there were a built in proceedural system for generating plausible dirt, scratches, and smudges on plastic and metal surfaces.

Release time TBD.  I've put this request in the rendering back log.

Sweet !

If you guys are serious about this, try talking to some SFX people who do weathering (Adam Savage is great at it, likes F360, and is in the Mission)

@roambotics_scott, yes, I've seen a number of Adam's videos on weathering techniques. As well as a couple of prop makers.

Thanks for the suggestion.
