Did you mean:

please make tools remember previous tool settings

please make tools remember previous tool settings

I think I brought this one up around a year ago so.

Fusion's workflow is somewhat slower than Alias because each time I use loft all settings are back to the basic

and I have to click myself through the dialogs again and again. thats quite repetative and time consuming.

Couldn't you code it the way that previews setting selections will be memorized?

Alias does that.

Make custom tool libraries for different materials and set the feed and speed there.

Been begging every Autodesk Employee who will listen for this functionality since day one.  Maybe some attention from the community will get it pushed to the top of the list.  Pretty much everybody else does it this way.  Alias, Rhino, Solidworks, etc.  Need it all day every day.  Keep having to click the same properties over and over and over.  It's maddening.

people do not like Alias interface but I have to see the UI is very efficient and fast - while Fusion's UI visually is so much nicer easier to teach, and some of the tools are just fanastic, using the UI is a drag laggy and often frustrating.

For me this is still the really weak area.

But hey Fusion is still pretty new!

This is such a simple thing that would save so much time and so many headaches and it'd be easy to add a default enabled checkbox that lets F360 not remember the settings one time.

When I was exporting lots of STLs for Shapeways, having to constantly re-select the same high quality options annoyed me to no end (especially because the defaults seemed silly and I can't imagine ever actually intentionally using them).

Use templates. Do it once then save as a template. There in a video walk through.

Cekuhnen makes another good point. The user should be able to make a change and then save preferences. Yes- like in Alias. You ought to send your UI team to Alias training. Learn from what works. You shouldn't have to make a template. Templates should be used to format part or assembly files to work with a particular set of constraints. Like inches or milimeters, or for a particular client or for interoperability with a particular CAD software, for example.

Thanks

It's great that in the marker menu when left swiping up, it usually defaults to repeating the previous operation. What would be great is if not only it repeated the previous operation, but it also retained the same settings from before so the user wouldn't have to re-input the same data each time.

IIRC this is already accepted in another idea somewhere

This has been done, if you see tools that don't seem to be honoring previous settings let us know.

@colin.smith I am not sure if me misunderstand us but loft fillet and such tools do not capture the previous setting. I noticed that in sketch commands like offset so.

But with loft surface I still have to turn of tangent curve select and such.

This should be working but I will investigate.

First thing I did when i heard this was implemented was go and check Loft.  😞

From what I understood.  This remember previous settings implementation did not make it into the Patch Environment.  So annoyingly we will need to continue to un-check Chain Selection on Loft.  Hopefully for only a little while longer.

Also not 100% sure if it only works for values or if check boxes are also remebered everywhere else.  Still poking around since the last update.

Can say .STL export / 3D print got a lot easier now that cutom settings are remembered and persistant.

Still having to un-check this box about a hundred times per day.

Marked as implemented but was not carried all the way through.  Works for some tools but not others.

Yeah @colin.smith this is definitely only partially there and should be fixed

I had to do repetitive tasks several times in order to make an impression.

I would like you to remember the work of putting the number on the back.
