Per-computer graphics settings

Per-computer graphics settings

Currently Fusion 360 seems to store all graphics settings (anti-aliasing, ambien occlusion etc) in the user profile. A better way would be to store the settings locally with each installation.

My use-case is that I have a beefy workstation at home, but also use fusion in my old macbook pro that is seriously lacking in the gpu department.

Good point.

Additionally, it would be nice sometimes to adjust the display settings on a per file basis. Sometimes for performance needs, but other times certain models work better without the shadows, but by default I would like them on. Now if I have to disable them in one model, the next models I start or open, I have to switch it back again.

Per model settings would also be indeed nice, but little harder to implement for projects where multiple people work on the same model as each might have their own preferences.

I know this thread is old, but it was one of the first search results that popped up when i searched for local graphic settings. It's strange it has so little votes so i thought i'll add my 2 cents.

So far i used fusion on a a high-spec PC, so all graphic settings were of course maxed out.

But now i installed it on a laptop to be able to do some quick fixes on the go only to find out that it used my workstation's settings. Of course with a rather old integrated GPU it's almost unusable. After lowering graphic settings it worked fine on the laptop, but i was surprised to see that now my worksation uses low graphic settings and i need to change it up again.

Having settings like default document units, or general UI behavior in the cloud is really nice, but things affecting performance, like graphic settings really ought to be local. Or even better solution would be to have the defaults set from cloud, but giving users an option to override them with local values.

Isn't it fusion 360's philosophy to be able to use it from anywhere? And anywhere usually includes machines with totally different specs, so why use the same performance settings on all of them, or force users to keep switching back and forth?
