In using components to build larger projects I noticed that in order to change the value of a parameter you have to break the link between a component and its source. This kind of defeats the purpose of parameters. Designing a component in another design than you use it in gives the possibilities of hiding details from the design and designer that ultimately uses the component. After breaking the link changes in the source/original component will not propagate to the client designs. In programming this is called encapsulation, where parameters are used to influence values and behavior of classes while things that should not change are hidden away thus enabling high coherence and low interdependency. Wish it would be this way with parameters in Fusion's classes/components too.
On another note: while writing this message my cursor jumps arbitrarily to the beginning of the message which causes me to make typo's and is generally anoying/confusing.
