OK Autodesk 🙂 Lets cut to the chase.
If you're going to author a CAD package, you need to bench mark the "best in class" better. Now I'm not saying Fusion isn't a great package for the money, hence me buying a subscription for home. But coming from my day job where I use Catia, I find the lack of ability within reference geometry construction rather disappointing, and it's doesn't even appear to offer the same as Inventor
So, you need to look at how you can do things like,
- Plane normal to curve at point, (where the point can be on or off the curve)
- Plane offset parallel through point
- Plane along curve at a length or ratio.
- Point along curve relative to a start point at "Distance" or "ratio" or "Along a vector direction"
For all above you need to be able to then offer the B-Rep stability to prevent Curve "direction" changes, ie where the "start point" of a curve or sketched path, during modification "flips" from one end to another destroying the model. I've experienced this issue when building swept surfaces with several section along the path.
Thanks for your time,
Andrew
