There needs to be consistency in the component creation processes, with an additional option or two. Here is what I would like to see:
There are at least two different methods of creating a new component, one method is to select "New Component" from the "Assembly" menu, this method brings up a window where a component name can be assigned along with some other options. Another method of creating a component is to simply right-click the "Unsaved" or the "Design Name" from the browser. Unfortunately, this method does not bring up the same "New Component" window that appears in the first method. It would be nice if the two methods were consistent, with both bringing up the "New Component" window.
Additional options that would be great to see in the "New Component" window: the ability to add the Part Number and the Description. Rather than going back in later and adding these descriptors, if I remember, it would be nice to have this option up front when the creation process starts.
