need Offset referances

Changing a feature that an offset is derived from does not update the offset. Please make offsets refferance their original sketch geometry.

Not true!

You just have to constrain the offset features to the original sketch entities. Some of that is done automatically, but not all of it depending on the underlying geometry.

Pehaps next time it's better to ask this as a question before posting it as an idea or checking if this atually works beore voting on it!

Here's a screencast showing that this works nicely.

Hey EliteEngineer, does TrippyLighting's screencast solve what you're asking?

Trippies approach was unsuccessful on my much more complexe offset. Selecting two adjacent offset segments grayed out all constraints except lock. Furthermore, competing products produce all of the constraints plus an offset dimension and I have the option of selecting a face and offsetting its edges. Still further, competing products offset command will project selected edges that are not on the active sketch plane all under the hood saving me that extra step (no auxiliary sketch lines either).

It would be great if you could show that in a screencast. Perhaps you've come across a bug or limitation that can be removed with the next update.

If you want this to persist as a feature request that can actually be worked on then some more specific detail would be helpful.

Should you have access to these competitve products perhaps you can show us in a screencast how it's done there.
