When on is in one of the six primary views (Front/Top/Left/Back/Bottom/Right) the navigation tool has a very nice feature to quickly rotate the view (or the camera) by exactly 90 degree around the viewing axis. ( Bend arrows in the top-right )
Unfortunately, this feature disappears at any other view. Why does it have to do that?
I often need to perform exactly this type of rotation when I'm viewing a Sketch or feature "edge on" which is not aligned to any of the basic planes and then I can only
- fumble around with the constraint rotation tool (inconvenient)
- temporarily set my current view to "front" to get the feature back (Unnecessary complicated)
The this rotation tools (and possibly the 4 triangles for the other 90 degree rotations) should be available all the time.
They just need to act on the VIEW-coordinate system.
In case there is a "need" to distinguish being in "basic" orientation exactly, give the tools a slightly different appearance, but personally, I don't think this would be necessary.
