Multiple objects in a drawing

Multiple objects in a drawing

I probably have a relatively unique need in 2D drawings.

I publish a digital magazine and the convention is to place multiple parts on a single page to save file sizes. Also, to allow page contents to be balanced, I either need the ability to group a set of drawing pages for a project and move parts between them or be able to freely copy and paste parts from one drawing to another.

In my magazine, Model Engine Builder, I start out with a page of views of the assembled project. Next page(s) will be an exploded view with a BOM and subsequent pages showing parts in the order in which the building of them is explained in the body of the magazine article.

So you're asking to have multiple sheets in Fusion Drawings?

And you do can place multi parts if I recall correctly by selected the few parts in assembly and then create new drawing. Though I guess this isn't what you wanted.

Yes, the reason is it keeps all of the project drawings in one place. I 'think' AF360 probably accomplishes this in a different manner and when I learn what that is, I will be OK with it.

The real need is when I get a part all set up in a 2D drawing with dimensions, annotations, etc., I don't want to lose the layout work if I have to move the part to a different drawing sheet. In my current 3D CAD software (Geomagic Design) I cannot copy or move parts between drawing sheets unless they are in the multiple sheet package. One cannot bring in a part from another drawing not part of the multi-sheet group.

Does that make sense?
