Move/Copy Parts

Move/Copy Parts

Hellothere,

a really small, but VERY handy feature that you guys & gals at autodesk should be able to implement during the next coffee break:

Move and rotate components, bodies and sketches according to existing geometry!

the align tool helps a bit, but every new input makes the previous alignment obsolete!

maybe add snap points for hole center axis, midpoints, straight lines etcetc, which can be used for a first orientation of a new component, until you fiddle with joints...

that'd be greeeat...

Thanks!

Sorry, forgot to add:

that also goes for Joints: would be so much easier to snap a small square to the center of a bigger square instead of joining at two corners ad offset to the midpoints (okay, in this case the joint can be set in the midpoint, but you get the idea)

i wanted to join a PCB to its four corresponding mounting holes. before that, i just wanted to align it in its place. it is currently not possible to align one mounting hole and then rotate around this mounting hole to align the other three mounting holes without the use of several different commands. that should be way easier!

thanks again for looking into that...

agree! Simply moving or copy/paste/move in 360 is a total pain in the ass after coming from a program like Rhino where you simply select the object and drag it. Something so simple should not take me over 30min to figure out!!
