Was very glad to see «Improved orbit behavior, the predictability & feel of 3D navigation is more closely align with other CAD packages. We now adjust the pivot point automatically based off of the view» in the release notes, and there is some improvement, but it's still putting the pivot in an odd place / behaving in weird ways and could stand a lot of improvement

 

If I zoom into a corner of a recessed cavity, unless I'm very careful to put the corner in the center of the window, any rotation will take the corner out of view. 

 

Accelleration for two fingered trackpad scrolling is such that if I zoom in at all, I have to go side to side and pick up my fingers well over a dozen times (counted; that's not hyperbole). Fingers going from one side of the trackpad to the other should translate the view almost a full screen. It takes four swipes side to side to move a screen width and six up / down to move a full screen height, which is crazy.

Actually it doesn't even help if you've centered it. This is crazy / unusable behavior

I agree. I've selected a spin center, but it doesn't stay a lot of times. Also when I start a sketch on a larger item, the screen will zoom way out so I have to zoom in an find what i'm doing again. Very annoying.

F360s Orbit is complete garbage. I was just about to post an idea and this one popped up in the suggested ideas. I can't believe it hasn't gotten more support.
Please improve the orbit control in F360. There are times when trying to render or get a detailed view that it's 100% impossible to get the part at the exact angle you want. I posted a thread about this ages ago.
In Freecad if you click on the screen at the top left it rotates the model in a different way than if you grab it in the middle of the screen or bottom right and drag in the same direction. It has an insane amount of finite orbit control. Grab anywhere on the screen in F360 and drag left and it has the same effect as grabbing anywhere else and dragging left.
I left FreeCad because of too many issues and too slow of development. Almost seems like it's developing faster and better than F360 lol.

 

Not to be overly immodest, but this should be something like +100

 

Model navigation is almost as fundamental as stability and it's been broken to the point of being nearly unusable forever
