More advanced text features

More advanced text features

I would like to see more advance text features.

Like adding text that follows a spline, edge or line.

And options to mirror text en align text.

See for example the solidwork text tool.

Has any progress been made on this?  Looks like its been stuck in the future for a couple years.

Meanwhile... can anyone point me toward an SVG program that will let me put text on an arc?

Thanks,

Chris

@chris

I agree it is abysmal that there is no functional text path in Fusion. Been waiting a looooong time now.

Inkscape is a good free program for making text SVG's on an arc or spline

Here is the link to Inkscape.  https://inkscape.org/en/release/0.92.2/

I've tried to use it to generate usable text on geometry without success.  Good luck.

I tired Inkscape, I thought it was toooo open-source for me : ) I asked @keqingsong and he recommended Graphic by Autodesk. It's way better, but it is 29 bucks. I happily paid it. It's easy to use.

I can't wait until they get real Text options integrated into Fusion!

The ability to change text to superscript or subscript would be extremely nice

Wow...almost 4 years to add functionality that Inventor has had for like, ever?  This and stick fonts are part and parcel of most CAD/CAM software out there.

i'd like it to be even a little more robust.   and have text follow the contour of a face.   (for example text on a conical shape that's not much deeper on the bottom then it is on the top)

also i have tried to angle text and it wouldn't work.    had to schetch a square.  angle it.  then make an offset plane for the text.

basicly the test is lacking by alot.

basicly i want text along the red line http://prntscr.com/ji1kzm

wich is pretty hard to do atm.

nvm already found a solution https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W0q2tQD5zk   now i just need to curve the text

WOW really guys? Come on this is way overdue. I can't believe this hasn't been fixed. Inkscape is a lame work around. Just waisted way too much time trying to make it work. Followed the tutorials to the letter, and when I import the SVG it's just a circle the text doesn't import. Regardless should have to run to another program when this should obviuly been added years ago.

Really disappointed with Fusion on this one.

Definitly need to see more texting options on an arc or spline. If not will have to look else ware for cad options suitable for our needs.

Can anyone comment on when we will see more advanced text features show up into Fusion 360 product release?  This feature has be suggest as far back as 2014 and as a product maturity issue, it is long over due.  Any insights on when this feature will be delivered would be greatly appreciated.
