Hello,
I would like to make a request to add proper ways to select edge loops and rings in modelling mode. Currently, if user needs to make a large selection of edges to chamfer or fillet them, there is no other way but to do it one by one, which is extremely time-consuming.
I am aware that fillet command detects loops in some cases, but it only works if the corners between edges are already smooth, it doesn't work for angular objects.
I come from polygonal modelling background, and this is a standard feature of most 3d modelling packages I've used. Usually it's either a shortcut (like in Modo), or double-click/shift+click (for instance, 3ds max). The only reason I can think of why Fusion doesn't have something similar, is because the main focus of development is CAD features, and development philosophy is based on CAD approach, as indicated by the majority of updates and requests.
There was an old request for the same feature that was archived. With comments expressing their disappointment with this decision leading up to this year.
Fusion 360 can be an amazing tool for artistic hard-surface modeling. The ability to model without thinking about the topology is an amazing advantage over poly modeling. There is a growing amount of users that come from video game, film and visualization background, which can be seen by observing increasing numbers of non-CAD oriented tutorials and discussions. It would be great if developers took notice and added some features that would benefit such applications.
