instead of building sketches and then place them precisely it would save us time if we could have measurments as we build sketches. This way we could position precisely drawings while drawing. Sometimes you have to position things precisely without using constraints.

You should inspire yourself from sketchup. It tends to help the user a lot while sketching not after.

One (not so) minor issue is that your 2.723 could easily be 2.72323438271927109834..., in which case it'll be close but not perfect.

I think a better solution might be to improve the constraints because so long as those work well, the above isn't a concern.

Tangentially related but I'd love something where we can do something like what you're talking about to define variables or equations.

Build up the sketch, hover, and then start putting in variables and relationships with implicit variables.
