MANUFACTURE / support (holding) tabs manually positioning improvement

MANUFACTURE / support (holding) tabs manually positioning improvement

Greetings. Thanks for the incredible, free, (startup license) Fusion 360.

We do some G-Code generation for a CNC router with Fusion. We mainly use the "2D Contour" operation. When using support (holding) tabs, we always prefer to place them manually ("At points"). Unfortunately, it's not possible to place the tabs on every part of the contour path.

It's OK to place tabs on any straight path;

It's OK to place tabs on path junctions (nodes);

BUT

You cannot place the tabs manually anywhere within a curved path / although Fusion will place tabs on curved paths if you are using the automatic ("By distance") option or if you manually place the tab at some "outer" geometry, Fusion will place the tab as close as possible (including the any curved path).

Most of the pieces we cut here are not designed internally and we have no control over where the path joints are. Usually, the "By distance" option will generate incovenient tabs placement. So, as a workaround, we either have to break the path on desired places during the importing / sketching phase or use a second sketch as an external support geometry to make the tabs "stick" where we want them.

So, PLEASE, just let us click anywhere and place a tab. Dead simple, right?

Thanks again!!
