Make the UI actually responsive

Right now I think the program is single thread? So when it begins compute, the UI dies.

The UI completely freezes out, becomes unresponsive.

The loading bar doesn't even work.

So I can't cancel the operation, I can't see progress made.

Sometimes I do something bad and it hangs the program permanently. But I CANT TELL because that's how its normal compute state looks like. So hours of wasted time later I restart the program and concede that I lost my work.

Can the UI be made properly responsive at all times? Please?

This happens to me on multiple computers with multiple accounts multiple setups, and it's even on youtube videos. The UI clearly has a problem that isn't rare.

I can include evidence in the form of screencasts, pictures, video recordings, and files that you do a simple action to hang the UI as I'm complaining about, if necessary... Although I'm sure everyone knows the UI freeze.

Can be the core of the program will not allow developers to get rid of the UI freeze.

If so, then it may be time to rewrite the core of the system from the beginning to give a real performance?
