Make Copy and Paste feature Parametric and editable

As it seems copy and paste is not editable.

In my case a change to the design (just how something was split) makes the copy and paste command fail

which renders this command somewhat problematic to use in a parametric workflow.

Looks like an oversight by the developers.

Yes this was a misconception. See this thread.

The workaround presented only works in very specific cases. 

For example if you copy/paste several items at the same time, but then want to remove something from the initial selection, that cannot be done. So you have to delete the copy//paste operation, which results in breaking subsequent operations.
