Local Export for OBJ

Local Export for OBJ

The web based exporter can be very handy BUT the moment the web service has problems

you cannot get your file exported. This problem happened in my class room multiple times making this unreliable.

While 98% it always worked the 2% it does not work is very problematic when under a time crunch.

Fusion offers already STL export with a meshing setting and OBJ export for T-Splines.

Every program can also offer OBJ with meshing settings and material properties which is why it trumps STL

even for color 3D printing thus there should be no reason or excuse for not offering it in Fusion too.

This can also be extended to the SketchUp exporter.

I think it's also important to point out that having to go through the web based exporter is just unnecesary steps added to an action that should be pretty straightforward. Not to mention that (in my experience at least) there is noticeable quality loss when using the browser to export an OBJ. There's no way control the mesh that comes out of Fusion 360 this way.

I am aware of the whole Base feature, brep to mesh workaround, but then you have to export each body individually, and if you have more than 3 bodies, you can see how this can get really repetitive and time consuming. People have been asking for this feature, along with the ability to export in Quads (ngons) for more than two years now, I don't know why this has been ignored for so long

In addition, it could be valuable to be able to select only one object (body or Surface) instead of all the scene.

My issue with the Web Export OBJ is that all the scene is exported and depending of the feature of the Tool which import that OBJ it could be tedious to remove some parts...

Thanks to make something like the export STL or use the same tool and ask for the file format at the end.
