linear and path driven sketch patterns

linear and path driven sketch patterns

I don't see a linear pattern feature, or pattern on a path, in the sketching toolbox. Circular features can be done, but not linear or path driven patterns. I know that rectangular patterns could be used, but that is inefficient and requires unchecking a lot of checkboxes. Eliminate messy redundant pattern rectangles from sketches and enable easy repetition of holes and sketch features by adding a linear or path driven pattern feature for the sketch toolbox

Hi Tylerfinn8.

A linear pattern we use a rectangular pattern. Make a choice a direction (as a needed) and place 8 per example, and for another place just 1.

In the sketch mode we use only to draw 2D, and we can create a path "line". In the Create tab we have a tool pattern on the path and it need to be in 3D. If we want make it easy make just one (per example circle and extrude) and move to create tab to use 3D pattern on the path. Also if that case create a lot components just go to assembly tab and assembly the first component only, and create a "rigid group".

I understand your point, but remember sketch is 2D.
