Keep my left hand busy...

This tool is improving rapidly.  I found it very frustrating when it first came on the scene...much improved now.

One thing it could really use is keyboard shortcuts to reduce how often I have to move the mouse around from my work over to a menu or the cube, zoom, pan, etc.

An example of this would be to have the space-bar act as a quick way to move from normal mode to pan (hold space bar to pan with mouse).

Another example would be a simple configurable command/control key to zip to a particular saved view

Many graphics tools (like photoshop) allow use of un-modified keystrokes to do frequently occuring things whenever you're not in the text edit mode.  A simple tap on the T key could zip you to "top" view.  Z key could put you in zoom mode.  N key could put you back to normal mode.

In short, using the product has improved a lot, but it is still missing these sorts of "speed of use" features that have been industry standard for many years in this and other creative genres of software.

Thanks for the feedback, Jeff.  You'll be pleased to know that we're investing in efficiency/productivity enhancements.

Next month's release will provide an option to change keyboard shortcuts for navigation commands (Pan, Zoom Orbit) to match those of Alias, Inventor or Solidworks.

A few months later, we plan to introduce keyboard shortcuts.  The initial implementation will be search-based (if you type the letter "C", we'll present a list of all commands that start with the letter C, and filter as you keep typing).  Pending user feedback, we may also consider providing a method to link keys with specific commands, allowing you to launch commands more rapidly without traversiing a list.

I hope this helps.  Additional comments are always welcomed.

Charles
