International Date & Time Format

International Date & Time Format

2016-03-07_11-46-59.png

So was that created on the 3rd of January or the 1st of March? This is hideous guys, come on. If you only want to use a single date format, then please use March 1st 2016 instead of the short hand version of the date.

To do this properly though, you should be tying the date & time format into the default unit preferences. Fusion is now starting to grow reasonably well outside of the USA, this type of thing really puts people off.

Hopefully you can get this into the next build or two?

@daniel_lyall Would you be so kind to explain be how to implement it on Fusion360?

Thanks

It was pointing out to the autodesk dev guys if I can find how to set a date there is no excuse to not adding it or changing it, most of them know I know very little about coding

Alright! Many thanks.

Dev Guys! Here you have your task to implement it. Please do so!

Please, can we have international date formats? Pretty please?

In my part of the world (Europe/Norway) am/pm is barely used verbally. All times should be in 24h format. Please make me and all those unaccustomed to the American style able to chose both date (d-m-y or y-m-d) and time (h:mm) format. In ALL fields, i.e. file tags and title blocks.

3 years on. Are we there yet? Nope...

Why doesn't F360 use the system's date format?

Yeah it's not a good look. Maybe if more of the product managers weren't based in the USA it would have been fixed by now?
Kind Regards

no news is good bad news

This is still not implemented in the Data Panel of the OSX app.

It's actually VERY unusual for software - even from a small developer - not to follow System Preferences for the time and date format. It causes me a lot of headaches.

yeah it's totally amateurish.

It is done the American way

Makes it even more difficult when they say that having older versions available is there for easy access but you are unable to identify them because of the incorrect time format

Is this still a running joke or ist there still no solution after 3 years?

Maybe we have to wait, untill there is a new president in the states...

Please, pretty please, fix it already!

@charegb It's very frustrating that the only answer from Autodesk was yours nearly four years ago(!), stating that it would be implemented "next month". Can we please, please, please, get some more information and a proper ETA for international date formats?

Great stuff! Posted in March 2016, accepted one day later for implementation in a month. Nicely responsive.

Except it's now a month shy of being 4 years since this idea was posted and still no sign of it.

Four years. Was this forgotten? Is it that hard to use a system call for the date like every other piece of software?

I created a new post for this because my guess is it's being ignored because it's marked as solved:

It's not marked as solved. It's marked as accepted, which is meant to mean they have added it to their backlog and will get it done when appropriate within their development timeline.

@robcohee any updates on where you guys are at with this please?
