inspection color selection

inspection color selection

When using INSPECT>COMPONENT COLOR CYCLING TOGGLE,  with complex assemblies, different components often are assigned the same color, causing difficulty in interpreting the assembly when these parts overlap.  An associated issue is that for people with partial color blindness, some color combinations appear with little or no color difference.

I propose that the INSPECT COLOR  feature allow the user the manually override colors of individual components and bodies and select a more suitable color from a palate of a dozen or so colors that are wide-ranging in hue.  THANKS

I never thought about color blindness being an issue, but that's another great reason why I think manually changing the colors is something that should be implemented. I myself get confused and find it annoying when making new components and it's the same color as another component right next to it. I can't tell where one component starts and the other begins.

Absolutely. I've been looking for an option to select a colour, or even select the next colour in the list, and was surprised to find it's just not there. The colour component swatch is an extremely useful feature, but it's only half done if there's no override option.

I'd also suggest that there should be a bit more differentiation between the blue colour of a selected item (face, component, etc) and the colours used in the colour component swatches.

I deal with folded sheet metal assemblies, and components sharing the same color is a huge problem because it makes the parts appear to be connected as a single bent piece.

It would also be nice to have the option to assign duplicate components a different color.

It would be very nice to customize the component color swatch in the timeline.

I currently have a design where the first two components are very detailed.. and they were both assigned the same color  😐
