In view "Shading with Visable Edges" mode, subdue edges with tangent faces

In view "Shading with Visable Edges" mode, subdue edges with tangent faces

Show them as dotted lines or very light lines to reflect that they are "hidden" edges. This is for G1 or better edges between faces in the viewport.

this gets my vote ...

 

Having tangent edges hidden is great for surfacing - you can see edge continuity defects.

It should be added to the Display Settings>Visual Style Tab so it can be switched on and off easily in shaded and wireframe modes.

 

It provides a better representation of the model as tangent edges aren't usually visible and should allow faster rendering of the wireframe which can be quite laggy in complex models.
