Improve Render API so external render engines can work directly inside Fusion

Improve Render API so external render engines can work directly inside Fusion

I know you work and offer your own render solution.

But lets be honest while it is easy to operate it is slow and quality wise not

at the level of what professional rendering needs.

I know many love Keyshot for being easy but again I can spot KS renderings instantly.

They all show the same flawed style.

There are plenty of cheaper and better options on the market if one looks besides

the marketing hype such as KS being fast which it is not actually.

Modeling and designing in Fusion is fantastic and producing quality renderings is often

slowed down by the process of exporting data to render engines.

For example it would be fantastic if the render API would allow engines like Thea to

operate right inside Fusion 360. I can render while I design. Changes to the design do

not have to be send to an external application.

The benefit of a faster workflow is that I am quite sure amount of quality renderings will increase.

And that in return will make Fusion 360 look good.

If you look at Rhino you can see that they even brought Cycles the render engine from Blenderfoundation

on board which with the GPU enabled render power blows the competition out of the water.

I've noticed the polygons are sometimes too big for the image size being rendered. Curved edges look faceted.

sounds like you need to mesh finer for rendering!

is there a setting for that in the internal renderer?

can you show a screenshot? The internal engine I think updates it on the fly.

Thanks for the submission Claas. This sounds interesting - we have plans to provide a more complete export of the model so that 3rd party renderers have something better to work with, but we don't plan on providing functionality to replace OGS and be the Fusion render engine.
