Improve "edit face"

Improve "edit face"

1-have edit face fully enter the sculpting environment allowing for restructuring of how the tspline is built.

2-keep the original tspline information (it would be a part of the body) so when going back to edit the same face you would be editing the same tspline, not a re-generated one.

Hi @laughingcreek

I'm not sure I understand your first point - are you asking for Edit Form to be "on" all the time you are in sculpt?

With regards to #2 - the T-Spline body is not re-generated from the solid.  You are always editing the original T-Spline body you created.

Colin-

These comments are in reference to the "edit face"command that is only accessible in DM mode.

1 when edit face command is invoked a tspline is laid over the original face.  There is no way to edit the topology of the spline.

2 if "edit face"is run a second time on the same face, the mesh density is different from the first time(if the face was deformed much.) This makes it difficult to simply tweak the face.  Why not remember the original topology?

 @laughingcreek

Looking at this deeper, it seems like a bug to me.

If the shape isn't changing then the topology of the T-Spline that defines the shape shouldn't change just because you toggle on and off the tool.  The software seems to be multiplying the result.  I'll have the dev team look at it.

Archived, logged bug.

I would still like suggestion 1, which is to be able to change the topology of the t-spline defining the face.
