I'm used to using Vectrix software for 3D carving. Very commonly this means taking in a greyscale bitmap or other graphic format and interpreting shade as depth for a 3D relief image.
So, that. Very simple really, just use the greyscale value as heights to make a triangle mesh. I could of course use another tool to turn a .bmp into an .stl annd import that, but that's extra steps and somewhat defeats the point of Fusion 360 since the other tool can already do the job.
