How to make a hollow cylinder with a thickness?
Hey!
I have made a model and forgot to make the cylinders hollow. I need to have a closed cylinder, hollow inside with a 1 mm thickness walls. Please, help!
Welcome to the community. As a heads up, this area of the community, called the "Idea Station", is meant for users to share and discuss ideas for improving the software and discuss new features, concepts, user interface improvements, workflows, etc. with the Fusion 360 development team. Your post would best be served by being on the "Fusion 360 Design, Validate & Document" portion of the forum located here where users can share tips, tricks, and ask for help with workflows such as this.
However, I believe I understand your goal well enough to hopefully give you a simple solution here. I believe the tool you want to utilize is "Shell" and can be found under the "Modify" tools drop down. In the shell feature dialog box, be sure to select the body you want hollow from the browser to avoid having the shell command remove faces accidentally. Once the thickness settings and direction are correct, you should have a hollow tube, see the cross-section in my example below.
Hope this helps. Again, welcome to the community and make sure to get over to the Fusion 360 Design, Validate & Document forum for future requests for help with workflows.
Wow! Thank you very much! The 'Shell' option really worked. I thought it can be done but I couldn't find it for hours. Thank you for helping and I will post in the other section in the future. Anyway, this is a really great program and thank you again!
