Hole tool - Countersink Depth (instead of Diameter)

Hole tool - Countersink Depth (instead of Diameter)

Hi all,

I've read on the Product Roadmap that a new Hole tool is coming our way soon, I'm very excited about that! I just wanted to do a last request before the tool is released!

When creating a Countersink hole the tool requests a Countersink Diameter. This does not seem to be consistent with the datasheets that fastener manufacturers deliver us; could this please be changed to the depth of the countersink hole?

Below I have attached a typical countersunk-screw drawing. As you will notice the diameter of the screw head cannot be equal to the diameter of the hole as the screw would stick out (by c). It also makes it more complicated if I would like to add extra spacing to compensate for any tolerances.

Please let me know what you think and feel free to add any suggestions!

Cheers

I use countersink diameter frequently. Depth should be added, not replace diameter.

Fair enough. I noticed that inventor uses the same function setup, (note that Inventor has specific functions for fasteners) it's very likely the current setup makes sense in some situation. If that is the case and it users need both equally, it should be an option instead of replacing the current setup.

I agree, allow the option of using either method.
