Give users control of colors and transparency of components

The physical appearance is great, but too close to reality when trying to communicate the design. It would help to get the idea across if the user could select the colors and the transparency shown in component color cycling mode. Right now I have a design where one component is covering crucial aspects of a design. I don't have a good way to show how the components under this part interact with it. If I could, I would have hidden irrelevant components, made a couple components light gray, added bright colors to the components under discussion and made the covering component somewhat transparent.

One hundred percent agree. This is an incredibly useful feature for communicating designs. Having them randomly generated as is currently the case often presents problems in using these images to communicate to a client/manufacturer.

I would appreciate also if the “appearance” menu would have “basic color” option: Select that, and you get the standard color select dialogue with adjustable transparency. I don’t need the design to look realistic (at least not always), I need it to look informative.
