Generative Design: Add simplify like in simulation

Generative Design: Add simplify like in simulation

Add simplify, for each study. This way when working in an assembly I can import the components/bodies important for that specific study - instead of having to turn them off and on globally.

I realise that assigning them to obstacles/preserve regions sorts them into individual studies, but it's still a little frustrating forming new studies based off components when you already have existing ones.

This is already there. Instead of being called simplify the button says edit. You can clone various setup models, make new ones, create unique obstacles/preserves/starting shapes, etc.

I realise this, my point was more towards making a "study" act more like a component. Store all the geometry I create in "Edit Model" in the activated study, instead of a global "Model Components" folder. This is so much neater than me hiding/showing components I think might be relevant, and my custom obstructions/preserves.

Or is there a way I can create a new generative model? No obvious selection.

So actually what I want is the ability to create a new "Generative Model" as above. Seems strange to have a parent that can't be duplicated or create a new one?

You can. In the edit environment you can make clones (or entirely new) models.

For your specific ask you would create a new model for each study.

I see, thanks. I still think that's not a great UI feature - rather that option was in the work space.
