This added capability is creating keep-in, keep-out and height areas into the 3d pcb which is then pushed to 2D pcb in Electronics. Heights could be made by projection to the surface and create a allowable height which determined by subtracting out a specified clearance from pcb to enclosure or other feature. A 2D drawing could also be created.
Keep-in/keep-out would the reduce the number the number of times switching back and forth between the 3D enclosure to check clearances and is especially of value on organic designs which contain curves and several i/o, and displays etc. In the situation the 2D pcb component placement is done by another team member, this would be of greater value by clarifying the design intent and minimizing unnecessary back and forth communications.
