Fusio360 UI

Fusio360 UI

Hi,

this is my illustrated request for a better designed UI.

First I want to split my preferite commands on multiple floating or dockable palettes.

I want to choose if show text description or keyboard shortcuts. Every command will have its own customizable shortcuts. The software will detect duplicated shortcuts. In this case I can assign commands to 3d Connexion devices.

I want to select different sizes for palettes and icons.

I want to assign a color to selection groups and select them through a separate window.

I want to batch rename bodies or components with padding. For example I select a bunch of bodies, I put screw_##, I will have: screw_01, 02, 03, 04....

or screw_###: screw_001, screw_002, screw_003...

I want to have a feature finder where I select a fillet then the software will find all similar fillets in the design.

I would like to have a full featured properties window.

I want to have a floating palette from where deselect all types of selections with a single click, then select the edges only (for example).

I would like to have osnaps in a floating-dockable window.

regards

I definitely agree that too many things are hidden inside menus, and the repeat last command right-click-swipe-up is... not a good solution.

 Hi Gabriele,

Thank you for your post. I will look into the requests you have suggested. I do have a few suggestions I would like to show you that might be useful to you in the meantime.

Keyboard short cuts is something we have been extensively looking into. We will soon be posting a blog about this topic.

Last release we implemented a color link between the broswer, canvas and time line for a component. Component Color Cycling displays components in different colors with corresponding colors in the timeline and the browser. The color hints help identify the features and operations associated to components.  This can be found in the Inspect drop down menu.

If you prefer to keep the fidelity of you materials in canvas you can link the timeline and browser by going to the settings in the timeline and checking the box next to Component Color Swatch.

Also I wanted to remind you we currently allow you to customize the toolbar by docking your favorite commands.

I hope this information was helpful. I will look into the requests and suggestions you have made. Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

Thanks for your input,

Maritza
