Free Fusion 360 for hobbyists

Free Fusion 360 for hobbyists

Hi Autodesk, I'm a design hobbyist and I'm wondering if you could please release a free limited version with features that would most interest hobbyists like myself.

The feature I would like to see are:

Basic Sculpting

Model Size Restrictions

Home 3D Printing only

Limited number of models

File Size Restrictions

Kind Regards

Would be better if it was free & unlimited for hobbyists. The benefit for Autodesk is user loyalty: The product would become so hugely popular that eventually it would become the tool of choice among professionals and businesses, who are the ones paying the subscription. In other words, making it free for hobbyists paves the way to becoming the industry standard. But then I'm biased, since I'm a hobbyist myself Smiley Tongue

Am I missing something? Fusion 360 ultimate is free for hobbyists and startups or are you asking for a restricted version?

See this thread and Here, read the section for startups.

When I opened my Fusion 360 account I read something somewhere about a free 3-year license for students and 1-year for hobbyists, myself falling in the latter category. I didn't think the paid subscription was outrageous, certainly not compared with a SolidWorks or Inventor license, so I didn't look do any more digging. I used to think the catch was "free at the start, pay when you are hooked". Apparently not. What happens is your license does expire after one year if you are a hobbyist, but you can renew it for free. It's only when you go commercial that you need to pay the subscription.

This is awesome news, and I'm really glad I chose Fusion 360. By making the product so available to everyone, Fusion 360 may well become the new industry standard. Seriously, the more I know about Fusion 360, the more I like it Smiley Happy

This is an amazing strategy from the guys at Autodesk - whoever thought up this idea needs a massive raise!

I am both a hobbyist and a student.

I have NEVER considered Autodesk products before as they were always too expensive for me to even try.

Fusion 360 is a Gateway Drug (could not think of a better term, sorry) to their other products. Having used F360 for over a year now, I always recommend that if you think you want to use some of the more incredible products like AutoCAD, have a go with F360 as a way to learn the basics and then move onto your program of choice once you are more familiar.

I am hooked (again, sorry for the reference) on their products now, and if given the choice, I honestly would not use anything else.
