Free cloud credits for every crash

Free cloud credits for every crash

Fusion crashes...

... and it crashes a lot. It can be hugely frustrating to see one's work lost. Sure, the auto save helps out and minimizes the damage, but it's still frustrating. It's been unreliable for too long.

So here's my idea - ever time the death screen shows up and the crash dump is logged and sent to Autodesk, how about the customer automatically gets cloud credits for their trouble.

That way Autodesk management will put some resources into reliability and make this otherwise wonderful software so much better.

This makes a lot of sense, but unfortunately I do not feel that they would add something like this, as it would then mean they would be loosing both ways - Having to put in resources so the software doesn't crash, or swallowing the cost of cloud credits if it does crash.

hmmm, isn't that just two side of the same coin? put in the work to preemptively avoid crashes, or pay the price if nothing is done about a known problem. Not really a double edged sword; take a specific risk, with a possible gain.

Its not a bad Idea , If Autodesk would reward people who suffer a crash and send in a completely filled in report that can help them the software to crash less its a win-win...

By the way I had a few crashes in Fusion 360 but as far as I can see I did not loose any work.

You can work out how to crash fusion quite easily how would they police it.

@jagbeekmansif they were to do that, I would probably be more likely to fill in those reports. As it stands, I often rarely do, as by that point I am often quite annoyed with trying to get something to work, so just want it to open up as fast as possible.

Also, if there was a way to see that your crash report has been received and read by someone who can make use of the information, it would be nice, as I then know the time I spend writing one is not wasted and it hasn't just disappeared into the aether.
