It would be useful to enable a custom form mill tool to work with the engraving cam operation.

Yeah, mill along a path with set depth and profile sound very useful for creating slots, notches or even engraved text,

instead of making bodies consisting of more than one shape, them moving them, then patterning them, then using them as a cut tool. ...

using a body as a milling tool along a path sounds even better
