Folders in Bodies and Sketch Lists

Folders in Bodies and Sketch Lists

I don't think this feature exists, but it's completely necessary for designs with tons of parts: Folders in the Bodies and Sketches lists. See attachment. I'm building a fairly simple shed, but there are enough studs, rafters, panels of sheathing, etc. that I need to be able to organize them into groups so I can quickly turn things on and off. Selection groups work well for turning things on and off in groups, but the list of bodies in my design is so ridiculously long that scroll it is a PITA. 🙂

Love Fusion 360! Keep up the great work!

You really should be using components it you're building an assemble, there are lots of disadvantages to the way you're working. With Components you can use joints to assemble, create 2d drawings of individual components and it's far easier to manage and edit. I guess you not heard of Rule #1 when working on assemblies.

Rule #1 Link. Unfortunately the tutorials don't teach this early enough.

In this case, I'm using it to construct wood framing. Joints aren't really
necessary, but I could use them. Still, folders would be a nice addition,
regardless of recommended workflow.

Joints may not be necessary, depending on how your design looks, but components most certainly are.

Again, depending on how your design looks you could make one rigid group joint that locks everything in place.

Folders certinly can be helpful for other things, but should not be used to promote an incorrect workflow.
