Flexibility with mouse button.

Flexibility with mouse button.

Hi.

I personally dislike using the middle mouse button for panning and orbiting. It would be great to have the flexibility to choose which button did this function.

I guess you can take the girl away from Rhino... but...

Nothing wrong with your request, it been requested for years! I gave up waiting and set all my programs including Rhino to use the middle button for orbit. I guess you have Fusion setup to the Solidworks setting for the mouse?

I would definitely like to see more customization in mouse button function, but I do find that there is a fair bit of customization available in the preferences tab for mousing.

It would be cool to individually map functions to mouse or keyboard actions.

I find there is not enough customization. I find all the other options seem to add more buttons on the keyboard that I don't like. I actually use the standard fusion mouse setup. As I don't like the idea of using the F1-4 keys.

I did go to a big computer store, (and to many odd looks) felt all the middle mouse buttons to find one that was a little less stiff.

Perhaps it's a little too many options, but I do really appreciate the way that Solidworks has a menu of all possible functions and lets you assign your own keystroke, mouse click, or mouse swipe to each of those functions. They also let you pick those functions based upon the context you're working in, ie drawing, assembly, or part.

It should be a pretty simple addition to be able make a dialog to allow users to assign a mouse button to a list of functions.  Many applications have this functionality and would make a great application even better.

...and just have a "default" button that sets keys and mouse buttons back to, well, default for that mode (solidworks, fustion, etc.).
