Feature request: Add design notes / documentation to sketches.

In larger parametric projects, it is sometimes hard to remember the design decisions which were made in a given sketch. If you change details of a design, it would be nice to have notes available on the sketches.

This feature shall not be confused with the comments on the design. While comments are a good feature for team communication, the design notes are more like a documentation to describe parts of the design which aren't clear otherwise.

See the example above for a helpful comment. If you change the design after a year, it is nice to see some textual reminders about your intentions of certain parts in the sketch.

Feature Request

• Add text notes to sketches.
  • Free notes in boxes, not related to any line.
  • Notes attached to lines or dimensions.
  • Notes attached to a group of lines or dimensions, enclosing them into a box.
• The dimension of the note boxes shall adjust to the content.
• Attached notes shall move with the objects.
• Free notes shall be convertible into attached ones and back.

Alternatively, a system with labels would be practical too:

• Add labels to sketches.
  • Labels A, B, C, D with arrows pointing to lines, dimensions or regions.
  • Labels attaches to dimensions or lines.
• Add a note/documentation area to each sketch.
  • Text of this area is visible on the sketch.
  • In this area one can reference to the labels placed in the sketch.

The text added with the sketch tools is part of the sketched object. It is meant to be created with the object and therefore optimised for this use. E.g. to add a text engraving to one surface, like a serial number or label.

I definitely vote for this. I have wanted this feature a lot when designing. Particularly since I often start a design and then have to wait for additional information before I can continue. Having the ability to add notes would permit me to do little "mind-dumps" to help me get back into it when I return to the design. Or to convey thoughts, brainstorming other or suggestions to myself (or others) while designing.

Yes Please!  This would be so helpful in capturing notes through iterations.  Adding text in a Sketch for the purpose of notes is very cumbersome.
