Export assemblies with referenced parts in .f3d

The cloudbased strategy of Fusion 360 is awesome! Sometimes you still need to export your assemblies for documentation reasons or sharing stuff offline for any reason.

In Fusion you can't export an assembly with referenced parts like external assemblies/parts in the native Fusion format .f3d. Nowadays it is only possible to export these assemblies as .iges .step .sat .smt.

You can get an assembly file but you have to use the online dashboard. Just select the top level assembly file and select download and you get an email when the FZ3 files ready. It will contain all linked files used in the assembly. You also have the option to send a download link to your customer, just right click the top level file in Fusion's data panel and select Share Public Link.

Hi @HughesTooling,

you're right, but that's more like a workaround instead of a good solution in my opinion. You should be able to simply export it in the program itself and not via the browser, waiting for an E-Mail to download it.

It's been asked for meany times over the last 4 or 5 years, god knows when or if we'll ever get it. I just wanted to pass on how you can get assembly files now.

Thanks for the info @HughesTooling! I guess there was a time where the .f3z file zou download in your browser wasn't working after reuploading it to Fusion.

Cheers
