With Fusion 360's ability to import assemblies from other CAD systems (actually I have only tried it on Catia V5 assemblies so far), a very useful feature, especially for some of our non-design users at work, would be the ability to explode and unexplode assemblies. Various CAD and Visualization systems do this or have done this in the past, with varied success.
A manual process to explode an assembly component by component by selecting each component (or group of components) and then the being able to control the direction/path and distance to move them would be good. An automatic explode command of an assembly would be even better, especially for the users that were not as familiar with CAD systems, but need to visually understand and sometimes analyze aspects of the assemblies.
Although an accurate automatic explode would be great, I know it is significantly more difficult to program such a feature. Perhaps a semi-automatic explode feature to start with, that would perform an automatic explode by trying to discern the correct direction for each of the components based upon its geometry and positional relationships with other components, and then let the user adjust and/or reposition components to better locations.
Of course, after saving an exploded assembly, you would also want the ability to toggle back and forth the exploded an unexploded positioning of the assembly components. Animation, staged and timed explosions, and more complex motions such as rotations and multi-directional paths would be icing on the cake.
