Edit CVs please for spline + surface

Edit CVs please for spline + surface

I fill like having hand cuffs on my hands when I cannot edit the spline and surface CVs.

So could you add them? They are kinda a standard modeling tool in nearly well everthing I work with 😉

Forcing a designer to only rely on creating surfaces through curves is a bad idea specifically when

first Fusion has no good or comparable 3D sketching ability like Rhino / Alias and second also in Alias

I can use those surface generationt tools (skin patch rail etc.) sometimes to only get a basic shape and

then I need to sculpt the rest by hand.

Status changed to: Future Consideration

We are actively investigating CV editing for splines.  I expect direct editing of surfaces will be a while though and may be part of an advanced surfacing workspace.  There are some considerations for how direct modeling of surfaces would have to be managed in a timeline workflow in the same way that T-Splines have to be updated in conversion.  Individual CV movement would be hard to track.

Hi there,

I think your point is right - Alias breaks the history when CV sculpting.

In DM I think this should be implemented ASAP because curves only get you sofar

Regarding the TM thats a good question but I feel maybe like you suggested as with TS the same can be done, if I edit the CV it has to be done only at one point in the timeline. I think thats ultimately also the most it will be used mainly.

In Alias I build curves, skin surfaces, break history sculpt.

So maybe I think a good idea is to realy leave the CV in DM for the base feature.

or after creating a sketch creating a surface in TM then the outcome can be baked into a base feature.

I quite strongly think CV editing will greatly increase Fusions value and the workflow like in Alias can be a good guide to follow.

I think not everything can be made parametric and forced into the Timeline.
