Did you mean:

draw line perpendicular to circle"s" and curve"s"

draw line perpendicular to circle"s" and curve"s"

for being a cad tool Fusion lacks some very important drafting tools such

as drawing a line perpendicular away or to a circle/curve

or construct a line perdendicular between two curves

Rhino has these features since years.

Via tangent constraint I can make one line tangent to a circle or two and thats it in Fusion.

But it seems impossible to make a line perpendicular to a curve

Yes, tangent and perpendicular to a curve is definitely needed.

Thirded.

This is one of those things that you can do with geometric operations but it's needlessly awkward and unobvious.

More generally, it'd be great to make sketches more malleable with easily mutable lines and features that can be dragged, connected, and disconnected.

Yep.. another wall, another feature I miss dearly. Fusion360 has clearly a problem with consistency. If 'perpendicular' feature is implemented than it should already work with everything or curves as expected. Even If you have to respect a development cycle than dev or team who was responsible for it should finish that implementation in the following months, not years after that feature was first introduced. I'll move along but unfortunately when I observe dates I feel we have to speak up to change things.

2017 and this is STILL not implemented, how can this be?! This is such a critical regular-use tool. As moth3r states this is an issue of consistency; there is already a perpendicular relation available for straight lines.

This and other shortcomings are making it hard to adapt from the (IMO) beautifully intuitive sketch environment of Solidworks.

Please give this some attention devs.
Thanks

Well the dev team works on multiple projects at the same time and sometimes you can do the same in Fusion just with a different sequence of steps but I agree the lack of perpendicular lines on an arc is not ideal in Fusion because you need 2 constraints

coincident on the arc

colinear to the arc center point

I try not to chime in too much anymore but I really want to address that @Yacker777 and @cekuhnen

As great as it is, there are a lot of issues with F360, but the biggest meta-issue is that it's full of things that were cool ideas taken to about ~80% completion where they could be demoed and added to marketing material, and then left to flounder.

Little things like this in sketch are just symptomatic of that.

Sure - you can work around them. Use your approach or pick a point, make a tangent line, make a line perpendicular to that‥ but that it's so easy [save for being a minor PITA] makes not baking it in worse, not better.

Other things like the lack of any real patterning or symmetry or [as far as I know, still present] issues with trying to use parametrics in non-trivial designs can also be worked around, but these are fundamental things that should be integral to the program and Just Work™ if it's to be considered a professional-level CAD program.

My current long-standing pet problem (3D navigation; especially with a trackpad) is maddening, but it's at least not completely trivial to fix (though it absolutely, desperately needs to be fixed).

All of these things can be excused with the «the team isn't focused», but that's a management problem, not a good reason for the program to be full of 80% there bits.

hell yeah, that's a basic feature.

but it's very similar to the limited possibilities to create construction planes...

Yeah I have to sadly agree - Fusion gets a lot of tools added but than it seems from an end user perspective the 20% of finishingline is often Post phoned for later times.

Later times which never seem to come 😞
