draft from parting line / plane

draft from parting line / plane

I don't understand why this isn't already in the draft tool, but often a part will have a parting plane or line (or / ideally, a curve on the surface though I know that's a lot to ask) from which the mold will separate.

Draft should support drafting from that.

Currently I have to split a body / component, draft from that splitting tool, and re-combine which is needlessly many steps and more importantly is causing F350 to hang.

Yup! This has already been raised in a separate board "Parting Line Draft" https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-ideastation/parting-line-draft/idc-p/8309241#M35644

Essentially there is a fairly large community of 360 users that identify with the essential need for this feature. Basically if you want to produce CAD models of more than elementary level of geometric complexity - (That is mouldable) then, the current draft functionality falls short. Having this feature will put 360 as a real contender to industry standard software. PLease do it 🙂 We love you F-360
