Double Clicking on Material Should come into "Material Manager"

There are Drag option to take a material into "Material Manager"

There should be more easy option by double clicking on material. It should come into "Material Manager"

Not to tell you how to do your job @promm, but if I were F360's PM, I'd freeze new development for a quarter every year and have everyone focus on mopping up these relatively easy to fix no-brainers in the backlog

The issue here is that you are clicking on the library item and not the swatch that is the "in this design" section of the application window.

The items in the library are intentionally non-editable so that users don't overwrite the Fusion 360 library items.  You can customize the items in the "in this design" section and save them to the "My Appearance" library which is synched in the cloud and will follow you to any machine you log in to.
