Disable Entity (face, edges, etc) Highlight on Mouse Hover

Disable Entity (face, edges, etc) Highlight on Mouse Hover

Hi Autodesk Team,

I found it very distracting when I move the mouse around and it randomly light up some sketch features (see attached video).

https://youtu.be/XSFN0f59BJk

I see 2 way of doing it.

  1. Give the user the choice to disable automatic highlight on mouse hover.
  2. add a debound or a delay when the mouse is moving at a fast speed.

Thanks !

I agree. Other CAD packaged allow the user to toggle between highlighting and not.

Hello,

Please strongly consider recommandations above for future developments.

Indeed, it is a shame we have no control over this.

I spent my day trying to find why Fusion 360 was freezing sometime, and it is because I was finally hovering a related component very big. It went to crash many times, I sent you around 20 reports today before finding it was the problem.

PLEASE, add this as soon as possible.

I loved Fusion until that but I really don’t understand why you chose to add this feature without control for user !

Thansk in advance for your reply.

Agreed. It is very distracting on the eyes. I stopped using Fusion on a large monitor because my eyes could not take it. Love the product overall though. -Tim

1 year of distraction has passed...still no upgrade. It is pure insanity, it is Mad Max inside Fusion360.

...still not fixed or am I missing something?

Fusion360 needs an epilepsy warning due to the flashing highlighting.

This is really a huge issue for me as well.  It is so unbelievably distracting; especially when the element being highlighted presents a large surface.  For those of us who like to give free reign to our imagination as we visually contemplate and ponder the intricacies of a modeling challenge this behavior is pure distraction.   I spent considerable time trying to find out if this behavior can be modified, or even somehow hacked, but there seems to be no way of avoiding the blinding flashes that result as our pointers hover across the canvas from one design element to another in search of the key that'll fit the design deadlock we currently face.  Why can't this behavior be toggled with a pointer gesture, a keyboard shortcut, a preference setting, or something?  How about a slider or numerical control that can adjust the brightness level of the highlighting, and also maybe even turn it off completely?  This really needs to be looked at... Please!?

I have been waiting for a fix on this mouse hover or implied selection issue for a while and don't understand how this hasn't been resolved. I import a lot of geometry in my sketches and this drives me crazy there definitely should be an epilepsy warning due to the flashing. I did read something about modifying an xml to change the selection color to the background...lame, but i'm going to try it.

as a trial customer, this makes me not want to buy this product.  It's agonizing on the eyes and clearly slowing the program down to have to highlight everything all the time

Just trying to contribute more to this issue. I see no reason for the faces to highlight as you hover over them. It does not exist in Solidworks and I cannot for the life of me understand why this does not bother the developers as much as it bothers me. In a dark room it is unbearable. Here is a quick video I made to demonstrate this. I received an Email about this from the Autodesk team (I was kinda frustrated and they were super reasonable) and I linked this video per their request. I have friends starting design firms and one with a machine shop who are contemplating subscribing to Fusion but this face flashing issue is a big turn off. Please Autodesk team, address this issue. I am tired of telling people, "Other than this one issue Fusion is awesome!" Thanks for the great product and soon I will have a full subscription when I set up my prototyping shop.

Please make this option to turn this highlighting off available, the flashing is very annoying !
