Dimensional Lumber and automatic BOM creation

I was thinking the other day how great it would be if F360 included the ability to design simple wooden structures with a pre built part library of dimensional lumber.  I.E. I want to design a small enclosure for my house back up generator.  I do the design in F360 using the standard dimensional lumber parts, but with a twist.  When I go to make a BOM, it will give me both a listing of required sizes and lengths, and also a cut list for the lumber.  So then when I go to the lumber store I know I need to buy so many 2x4x8', so many 2x6x10', so many sheets of plywood, etc.  Then the cut list would tell you the length's to cut them to when you get home and start assembling it.

I do face the same things, I need to be able to customise the BOM, each time , this is essential to pass the information that we need on each parts and avoid mistake

Thanks for the submission. We are in the process of reprioritizing BOM projects to be higher than some of the other 2D drawing projects. It sounds like a lot of what you're asking is weldments, which will be a future consideration project down the road. We'll keep you posted.

SweetHome3D has that feature, and you can download a dimensional lumber pack with an extensive list of lumber.
