Delete Face

Delete Face

Combine the functions of Delete Face, Unstitch, and Remove into one "Delete Face" feature. Currently the action of the delete face command is to try and patch the hole left by the deleted face. What I want like to see is an option to either patch the deleted faces, or actually delete them and turn the solid body into a surface body. As of now I have discovered that the "Un-stitch" feature will turn the solid into a surface, but then you have to go and "Remove" the surface bodies you don't want; an additional step and added feature(s) to the timeline (which is already pretty unmanageable).

If you select a face and delete in the Model workspace Fusion tries to heal the hole that might create but if you are in the patch workspace you can select a face\faces and delete and Fusion will leave you with a surface body and not try and heal. In the patch workspace there's no need to unstitch first, just select the faces and delete.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the tip. I will use that. It is annoying though to have to switch between work spaces for this behavior to occur. In fact I find it annoying to have to switch between work spaces at all (I'm talking of the patch, model, and sculpt spaces) since the whole point is to create geometry. I'm constantly using a hybrid method of solid and surface functions to get teh geometry I want and it's frustrating to have to jump between spaces to get to these tools.
