Cut Body with Offset

Cut Body with Offset

Hey Team

Can we please have an option to cut a body with an offset setting.  This would be a extremely useful feature for non interference fit parts.

I am currently having to create 2 separate sketches or bodies - 1 at the correct size and 1 slightly oversized to prevent a interference fit.

Hopefully see this new feature soon?

Kind regards

Grant Nicholas

I was just requesting the same thing.. A must have for 3d printing

I'd like this too.

It would work really well not just in the Extrude but also the Combine dialogues.

There are many situations where one might want to perform a "cut combine" operation in order to create a space for the Tool piece to sit in reality.

Would be really neat if there was a checkbox "Offset" in the Combine dialogue when "Cut" is selected with the opportunity to enter an amount in "mm".

I would like to see this added as well. I was hoping to see the option under "combine dialogue." A quick search led me to this page. For boxes and the likes that I want to 3d print, it's a real pain to make things fit as I almost always need a bit of an offset on all mating surfaces.

That would be one nice feature.

I would consider this a must-have for additive manufacturing, this would be very welcome. Current workflow through patches is convoluted.

I can't seem to find a way to edit my previous post, so hereby a video of a current workflow which can achieve this.

Note that this can have some deviations due to the stitching tolerance. This will work as long as the geometry isn't highly complex.

While you're at it, guys: add the possibility to use different offsets for different axis.

Any chance this will happen? Needing to do a bunch of tabs and slots.
