Custom Lighting in Render

Custom Lighting in Render

The ability to create your own light source and place them where you please would be fantastic.

You can create objects and then make them a light source. You can also put a glass case around it and change the color of the glass to change the color of the light. I hope this helps!

Another vote for light sources. Point, spot, directional, and area lights would be very helpful for doing interior renderings. I know this isn't a rendering program, but the render quality and ease of use are superior to many dedicated rendering programs!

I'm surprised that lights are not already included. I can think of many instances where they could be used when HDRI environments are not enough - aircraft interiors, bus interiors, showcasing furniture or product designs inside of a living room or kitchen, etc. I really hope this is somewhere on the roadmap!

any update on lighting. it would be great if both materials library and lighting could be on par with how i remember it in Inventor 🙂

Totally agree, different types of lighting are a must, the lighting environments provided are just do not give the required control to properly light a subject.

Another important factor that needs to be addressed is that yes you can create an emmisive object to kind of get round the lighting issues described above but there is no way to hide these emmisive objects which means creating massive objects and placing them really far away and restricting the view so  that they can't be seen which is hardly ideal and time consuming. This feature would take this software to another level, speed up workflow and the final output quality.
