Custom edge profiles

Custom edge profiles

I's like to be able to create custom edge conditions using my own profiles...

Can you describe more how you want this to work?

I'd like to be able to create a libraray of 2D profiles that represent the milling tools for our spindle moulder/CNC machine.

I'd like to be able to apply these tools to an edge, or sketched path, without having to set up multiple sketches, or create new geometry each time.

I'm looking for the simplicity of the the Fillet/chamfer tools, applied to a sweep operation.

(Come to think of it - 2D blocks would be a great start ! )

so if we added a sweep profile library, where you could add your own pre-made profiles it would work for you. We could ship some default shapes like circle, round tube, suare tube.

We probably need to look at twist controls on sweep for this will work right.

Thoughts?

That sounds great. You make it sound like a combination of custom edge profiles (Cuts) and the frame generator (Extrudes).

If you made the custom sweep profiles 2D blocks, and the sweep library a single file that the blocks are defined in, this would make it pretty easy for people to add thier own profiles.

Sounds exciting!

We will be introducing libraries in the software in the next year.

Your idea should be supported.

Woo hoo! Thanks vey much 🙂

(P.S. - I just caught up with the pipe feature which I hadn't seen before, there is definalty some overlap in function there).

Keep up the great work!
